Happy Fathers Day

Whew. The day is almost over. I'm starting to think that days like Mothers and Fathers days shouldn't be on Sunday. It just makes for a crazy day...especially when you don't start church until 2:30 PM.

Anyway we started the morning by not making breakfast. Ooops...no eggs. Cold cereal it is. Then we pretty much hung out for the morning got the kids bathed and down for a nap, read a little, pretty good so far...

Then church. Nightmare. Love church, but this time slot is miserable when my kids usually nap at 2PM. On top of that both the babies are teething. Let's just say today wasn't our day. Most of church was spent in the foyer. Oh well. It's not always this crazy. Only 6 more months of this time slot and only 9 more months until the babies can go to nursury. Let the countdown begin!

Here's a quick picture I took of Josh and the kids before we left.

After church we fed the babies and got them ready for bed while Emily watched Bambi. You know, nothing says "I'm a father" like coming upstairs with your kid and having them barf all over the floor, themselves, and their bed. Guess Spencer had too full a stomach to be carried up the stairs with a lot of pressure on his stomach.

So after clean-up and getting the babies to bed we came downstairs and fed Emily while Josh BBQ'd our steaks. Emily was in bed by 7:30 and we enjoyed a nice
quiet dinner. Closest thing we've had to a date night in quite awhile.

Overall, aside from a few fairly miserable hours at church the day wasn't too bad. Thanks Josh for always being a good sport and a great dad. We love you.

I remember that countdown to nursery! I found out today that someone I know is pregnant with twin boys. Very fun. And I loved what you wrote about being a father and Spencer throwing up. Nothing is more true!
