Happy Birthday Spencer and Haley
Time sure passes quickly when you're busy. It's hard to believe that it was almost three years ago I found out I was pregnant with these two and two years since their early arrival. Having twins really is a blessing...a crazy hard blessing, but a blessing all the same. I sometimes wonder what Heavenly Father was thinking when he packaged these two together. Two high maintainance kids at once....sometimes I wonder.
At two years old Spencer loves playing with trains and balls and is always surprising us with how coordinated he is. He loves to ride his scooter despite the fact that it is pink and has princesses on it and is finally starting to talk a lot more. We were a little worried for awhile, but he's starting to get it. I'm sure no one else can understand him yet, but I do a lot of the time and it is helping him to be less frustruated and to scream less often (a welcome relief!) He is very sweet and affectionate and is always looking out for his Hay-wee.
Haley is a funny little thing. She understands so much, and we sometimes understimate what she capable of. She's tricky. She is so often mild mannered and sweet to family and strangers that people think she's the "perfect" child. Ha ha ha. This little girl has spunk and attitude. She has a MAJOR case of the "do-it-myself's" and will not tolerate any help in such circumstances. She is very smart and learns things so quickly. She's strong, sweet and smart. "Pen-cer" is her favorite brother. She lets him get away with almost anything. If Spencer takes a toy from her she doesn't seem to mind much. However, Emily or Collin do the same thing she'll be screaming at them before they know what happened.
Their birthday party was super low-key. Actually I felt like a pretty rotten mom. I had made plans but everything kept falling through. In the end we had quickly made cupcakes at home. Good thing they're little and don't care what kind of party they have. For their present we bought them a giant white board for coloring. They loved it.
