4 months old

Another month and more milestones. Josh and I were talking last night and saying that we can't believe it's only been 4 months since the babies were born. As is typical when babies are born, it's hard to remember what your life was like before they existed.

This month has been a good one for me. Both babies have started to sleep pretty well on a schedule. On a normal day they're up at 5AM for a feeding and back down until 8AM when they get up for the day. They generally take two naps for about 2-3 hours each and are in bed and sleeping solid for the night by 7PM. Sleep is a wonderful thing that isn't appreciated enough! It's funny how much more Josh appreciates the sleeping through the night thing this time around. I don't think he realized when we had Emily just how much sleep I didn't get...and these babies are sleeping through the night much earlier than she did!

Spencer is sweet and a little bit shy. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be a mama's boy and have a bit of stranger/seperation anxiety when a time comes that ever I try to leave him. He smiles a lot, but makes you work for it. He started enjoying the floor gym a couple of weeks ago (just a little bit behind his sister), and on good mornings he will sit and have a delightful little conversation of coos with me.

Haley just continues to be a very happy baby. It's so fun having a baby that will smile at just about anything. Emily was a lot like Spencer and chose her smiles carefully. Although she started rolling over at a very young age, she couldn't really do it intentionally. This month she has discovered that I can no longer force tummy time on her. She just rolls right over and smiles at me! On top of that she can kind of push herself forward a bit when on the ground. I'm afraid it won't be long before she's off to the races!
