Fish Hatchery/Temple-snow trip

We had a fun day today! We started out by heading to the Nimbus Fish Hatchery in Folsom. Josh found out that the steelhead trout are spawning right now and we wanted to go watch them jump up the fish ladder. There weren't too many in the ladder, but we were able to see a few. Then the kids had a lot of fun feeding all of the rainbow trout that the hatchery raises for the local lakes and streams.

After the hatchery we decided to go eat our lunch up at the temple grounds. While we were there Josh noticed a car parked that had about a foot of snow piled on top. He went over and took a few handfuls for the kids to play with. Then when the family who owned the car came out they decided to drive over by where we were playing, get out of their car and shove the rest of the snow onto the ground for the kids. The kids couldn't be happier. They had a nice big snow pile and froze their little fingers off making and throwing snowballs. Emily was even running through the pile barefoot. I thought she was crazy, but she didn't really seem to mind. Super fun!
