Christmas Eve 2011

We had a fun, albiet busy Christmas Eve. Christmas just isn't the same when you're a grown up. Instead of laying in bed with your sisters, you're up late assembling toys and filling stockings. Oh well, it's all worth it. This year was a little tricky becasue we needed to get a trampoline assembled for Christmas morning while it was still light outside without the kids seeing or noticing. My parents were nice enough to come over and take the kids out for ice cream at McDonalds while Josh and I scrambled to get that thing put together as fast as possible before the sun went down. That way when the kids came home from their "date" it would be dark and they wouldn't be able to see it. After they got home we let them open their Christmas pajamas, took some pictures, read the Night Before Christmas and put them to bed. Emily was so excited to be having a sleep over in Spencer and Haleys room. In the end we had to move her back to her room because between that and Santa coming it was far too much excitement for anyone to fall asleep. I also need to remind myself that I should stay dressed for pictures. Not loving my half pajamas, half clothes look :) This was our nice and fancy Christmas Eve Dinner. Not something I want to repeat next year, but necessary with the trampoline assembly. Just glad not to have to do dishes on top of everything else this night.
