We decided to kick off this Fall season with a trip out to the Underwood Family Farm. This is local farm where they set up lots of booths with food (yum!), a corn maze, a petting zoo, a "hay ride" (hay not included), and a pumpkin patch. It was a lot of fun, and the day went pretty well...mostly because Emily slept almost the entire time. Plus, we got our pumpkin for Halloween. It wasn't the "pick your pumpkin from the vine" place I thought it would be, but it was still fun to walk around the lot and find the perfect pumpkin.
Side Note: So it was rainy and cold the day before this little trip and I decided to be a "good mom" and make sure that Emily had something warm to wear while at the farm. This meant that I made a quick trip to the Gap (well, I don't really go anywhere quickly anymore when I've got Emily in tow) to purchase a sweater. While in line to check out Em starts going balistic on me and the well-meaning clerk proceeds to give me advice on how to get her to stop crying when all I really wanted her to do was to let me pay as fast as I could and leave. Anyways, turns out that it wasn't cold and rainy at the farm and not only did she not need or wear the sweater...I spent the day worrying that the top of her head was getting sunburned...go figure!
