What happened to December?

Well I guess it's time to play some major catch up. December was a total whirlwind...let's see if I can remember everything!

Dec 1 - We traveled to Bakersfield to bless Emily. We decided to wait until December because my older sister had a little boy named Cayden on November 2nd and we wanted to bless them together so that all of our family would only have to travel one time. It was a fun but chaotic weekend. So chaotic in fact that we didn't take any pictures! I couldn't believe that we skipped the picture part, but we all forgot. Thank heavens I had already taken her to Picture People to have portraits done in her blessing dress!

Adding to the craziness of the blessing day was the fact that I thought Emily was getting sick and we were trying not to expose Cayden. Turns out though that she was teething! Sunday morning I looked in her mouth only to find a cute little white tooth...which was followed by another one the next weekend.

Then December continues to be a struggle when Emily really does get sick. Really sick. Regular cold stuff...plus breathing problems. She had to have breathing treatments and use an inhaler for a week or two. She was not a happy baby, one night we even drove PCH out to Malibu just to get her to sleep! Cliche I know, but it worked.

Here are some photos we took in the month of December...

Finally December gets good - we had origionally decided to stay home for all of the Christmas holiday because we were feeling worn out and wanted to relax. Then one day we were getting home from somewhere and Josh decided that we should get out of town. We loaded up the car and an hour and a half later we were on our way to Sacramento. It was fun to visit with my family and man were they surprised to see us on their doorstep.

Last but not least we went to Bakersfield for New Years to spend with famkly and our friends Ross and Amber who were visiting from Texas. Unfortunately Amber's entire immediate and extended family were dog sick with flu and cold. We thought about braving the waters and hanging out at their house anyway but after spending the first half of the month with an extremely grouchy baby we thought better of it. Anyway it was a total bummer not to see them, but I know they understood.
