Lost

I lost Emily at Mervyns today. I know it's not some island in the pacific with "others", but it was enough to scare me a little. We were walking down a row when I let go of her hand to pick something up off of the ground. I turn around and she's gone...GONE! I didn't totally freak out though because there really wasn't anyone else around in the store. I knew she wasn't being kidnapped, but I couldn't find her. Finally some nice man calls from the back (and farthest) row and points her out to me. Turns out that she was running up and down the isles and we just weren't passing the gaps at the same time. Little Stinker! Anyway, alls well that ends well. Maybe I'll buy a leash?

They are quick little buggers! I lost Spencer at the library once, he went upstairs! I was looking something up on the computer, and he was right next to me, but slipped off and I didn't notice. That scared me because it took me awhile to find him.

Worse was our trip to CA 5 years ago, at the mall, Cady crawled under a clothes rack and hid, I was nearly in tears trying to find her, we were looking for her for a few minutes, when a lady stopped and pointed to the tiny pair of feet she could see sticking out from under the rack.

It's scary when that happens, I'm glad you found her quick, and she was safe. Once they're mobile, you have to watch them like a hawk. I've contemplated a leash for Spencer, they have one at Walmart that's got a monkey on it, which is appropriate! ;o)

I know the feeling. That has happened to me way too many times. I can't believe how fast they disappear. I'm glad you found her fast.
