Disneyland!!

Yesterday we made our first trip to Disneyland with Emily. I wasn't sure if she was old enough to really get into it, but several of her little friends have passes and their Mothers assured me that there are plenty of things at Disneyland for a toddler to enjoy.

We went with the intention of purchasing the "Two-fer" special that's going on right now. We'd thought about buying season passes but had decided that with me being pregnant it wasn't a really great time. Well...we're total suckers and as we stood in line we convinced ourselves to buy season passes anyway. I wasn't totally sure we had made the right choice, but after the fun we had last night I have no regrets.

By the time we got there I was feeling at my wits end. Traffic was horrible, the ticket line was long, the stroller line was long, and the line at the hat shop was long (Josh and I still had our ears from our honeymoon, but Emily needed some). I was so anxious to get going I was about to pop. Finally though we had all our necessary "stuff" and were on our way.

The first ride Emily went on was Dumbo. She was a little antsy waiting in line and I was nervous she would be scared because she freaked out the last time she rode the Santa Monica carousel, but turns out she loved it. Josh took her and said she was just laughing and having a great time.

Then immediately after getting off of Dumbo she started running for the carousel. Surprisingly she liked it. I think it's a bit slower than the one in Santa Monica and the horses don't go as high.

Next we headed out to find some dinner but the lines were huge so instead we just walked over to the Tiki room. She was dancing and having a great time with the music. She got a little scared when the totom polls started chanting but overall she enjoyed it.

By the time we were finished at the Tiki room (unfortunately we didn't get any pineapple or soft serve because we didn't have any cash)we had a nice pasta dinner and wen't for one last ride over at the Jungle Cruise. I don't think I've ever ridden the Jungle Cruise in the dark, and our guide could have turned down his microphone a bit but the big highlight of the boat ride was Emily seeing the elephants. She was still talking about the Elephants on the way home.

(Emily's souvenier...Josh thought the picture was ruined because she put the wand in front of her face when he snapped the picture, but we think it looks kind of cool because you can see her eye through it.)

By now it was 10PM and we decided to skip the fireworks show in favor of heading home for bed. We had a great night and were very surprised at how well Emily hung in there considering we didn't even get on our first ride until 5PM. She didn't cry a bit and was happily running to the exit tram. The only thing she asked for the entire night was a sucker on our way out and it was only fifty cents. Do we have a great (cheap) kid or what!

That's how old Rebecca was when we started taking her and she loved it. Did you read one of my most recent posts with all my tips for Disneyland? Don't forget to get your free birthday money now that you have passes. Cute pictures!

I love the picture of Josh and Emily with their ears on. She is so stinkin' cute, I'm glad she had such a good time. I'm dying to take our kids there someday.
