Today we went to the Grove to see Santa. We tried to see him earlier in the month at the South Bay Galleria, but you have to have a minimum purchase of $20 to take your own picture...crazy! The Grove Santa is free.
Anyway, we got there around 12:45 and shortly after we got in line the worker came down to inform us that Santa would be "feeding his Reindeer" from 2-3 and that he didn't think that we would make it through the doors before 2PM. Josh wanted to leave, but as this is the only time we could both be there to get the picture done I decided to take a risk and see what happened. We got so lucky...we were the very last ones before the break. Yeah!!
I think the pictures are a pretty good indication of what Emily thought of Santa.
Another story: While Josh was waiting in line to see Santa I had taken Emily into the Pottery Barn kids store to play. Shortly after I got there a man walked in and started looking at the play kitchens they sell there. I honestly find it hard to believe that people will pay $1000 for a 3 piece kids kitchen...you could buy a real washer and dryer for that price! So when the clerk who was trying to sell him turned around I told the guy he could buy a very similar set at Costco for around $200. Fortunately he was very happy to hear this. Sometimes you never know at the Grove...it's a pretty snooty place. So that's my good deed for the day. I saved some poor sap from financing his kids toys.

I'm so behind on my blog and everyone else's!
I laughed at Emily's santa picture, I have one with Cady at that age, they luckily took the picture literally the split second before she came unglued. I think most little ones are terrified of Santa!
Happy belated birthday Josh, you old man!
Love all your family pictures (if those are your rejects, the chosen one must be incredible!). Love that adorable Emily. She is sure growing up fast, and looks like she is as fun as she is cute.
Merry Christmas!
