Yellowstone here we come! After packing up from the reunion we all piled back into the van and started out for Yellowstone. I was very excited about this part of the trip as I love camping and especially enjoy the National Parks. We thought this would be a short drive as Yellowstone was only 2.5 hours from Rexburg. Surprise! What we didn't fully understand was that Yellowstone is HUGE, and once we crossed the gates we found out that our campsite was another TWO HOURS into the park. What a day!
We arrived at our campsite in the dark of night and worked to quickly set up camp. About an hour later we were snugly in our beds. Surprise number two...it's very cold at Yellowstone at night, even in the summer. By morning both Josh and I were cold and Emily was sleeping with me on my air mattress. Not very comfortable!
Cold night aside, we proceeded to have a wonderful day roaming the park. I had no idea how huge and beautiful Yellowstone was. I can't wait to go again!
First Stop - Continental Divide...Check out the cool lilly pond!
Stop Number 2: A beautiful Waterfall (sorry I forgot the name)
Stop Number 3: Old Faithful
Yellowstone's fameous Lodge
The steaming Hot Pots: Pictures really can't do these justice. These giant pools of boiling hot water are super colorful and pretty. You have to see them in person!
A pirture of the deer standing about 12 feet from our tent:
Emily bundled up for night number two of camping in the cold!
The little hat only lasted about one minute before she started screaming like someone was trying to kill her. She hates having anything "attached" to her! And yes...those are socks on her hands.

Good golly, you guys did a ton of stuff for your trip! I didn't know Yellowstone was that big either, I've never been, and good to know it gets that cold. I'd be shaking in my t-shirt and shorts.
That deer looks kind of scary. He's giving the eye, and his mouth is open.
I'm glad you guys had such a good time, now you need a vacation to recover from your vacation!
Sheila
So much fun, the pictures are great!!
